About Us

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization started in 1882, in Connecticut. At the present time there are thousands of councils throughout the United States and other parts of the world. The Knights of Columbus promotes the Catholic values of charity, unity, fraternity, patriotism and maintains active programs that annually implement these values within the church, the community and with family.

The St. Andrew Parish Knights of Columbus was chartered in May 1994 from the desire of the men of the Parish to take a more active role in Parish life, and to engender a greater sense of community within the Parish.

The St. Andrew Knights of Columbus Council implements programs initiated by the Supreme and State councils throughout the fraternal year. These programs include feeding the poor, raising money for the mentally handicapped, active support for Right to Life programs, and Vocations. The Fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus with their traditional cape uniforms offer solemnity and spectacle to special Masses and other church events at St. Andrew. The Knights also assist the Parish as a men’s group and fulfill special assignments and duties as designated by the Pastor. Many parishioners are familiar with some of these activates, which include pancake breakfasts, coffee and doughnuts, and Christmas tree sales. There are over 130 members in the St. Andrew Knights of Columbus Council. Membership is open to all men of the Parish over the age of 18 and who are practicing Catholics.
